As you may well have guessed, I am a seasoned "Beauty Insider" at Sephora. (Though I have still apparently not spent enough to become a "VIB." How that is possible, I have no idea.) For those not in the know, the Beauty Insider program at Sephora is a rewards program similar to getting a coffee-card stamped. For every dollar you spend, you get a certain amount of points that you can save up and redeem for a gift. If you've shopped at Sephora even once, I highly recommend it.
One of the perks of being a Beauty Insider is that you get a birthday gift! And seeing as it is the month of my birth, strong Libran that I am, you better believe I promptly delivered myself to the nearest Sephora to collect my treasures. The gifts are seriously bomb and worth it, you guys. Last year I got the Watts Up Highlighter that I still use to this day, and the They're Real! Mascara that I absolutely loved. So you can imagine my glee when I discovered that this year's gift was none other than TWO Nars Lip Pencils. These are two high-quality and highly coveted cosmetics, my friends! I couldn't wait for the weekend to take them out on a test run, much to Theo's chagrin. (Do all men hate lipstick, or is it just mine? Not like it stops me, OBVIOUSLYYYYYYY.)
Here is a swatch so you can check out the pigments:
I swear I really was going to take pictures of myself wearing them this weekend, but it's just too embarrassing, you guys. I still can't bring myself to plaster my dumb face all over the Internet unless I truly have to. Net quite yet. But they looked good, I promise!
Rikugien is a nice augmentation of my natural lip color, and I love the blue undertones in the Cruella. It's super flattering. They stay on for hours, which does mean they are a bit drying so i recommend using a primer before you apply.
I love that they are small and light, so they don't take up significant space in my makeup bag. I find that sometimes full sized Lip Pencils can be a bit cumbersome to stuff in there. They go on smoothly and cleanly, which I appreciate since I am a monster who just smashes lipstick all over her face and prays for the best. They have a really mellifluous texture that helps them glide on but miraculously doesn't slide off.
If your birthday is coming up, don't forget to stop by your friendly neighborhood Sephora and get your own! You'll be rocking them all Fall and Winter, as I expect to be! Did you get yours?
