And vacation time is officially here! Time to rest, relax, and eat. Theo, Maeby, and I are headed to New Jersey for Christmas, and then to Montreal for Theo's birthday weekend! I've never been to Canada and I'm so excited to be heading north on the beautiful Amtrak Adirondak and getting to experience a whole new city with my love. It's an 11 hour train ride, so you better believe I've got my coloring book, movies, books, and computer ready to go. It's supposedly a beautiful ride up north, and I can't wait to take it all in. I hope you all have something just as magical planned for your holidays.
I've been thinking about what a crazy year it's been in terms of the steps I've taken in my work, and I'm so grateful to be where I am now. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate that you come back and read my ramblings week after week, thank you! Here's to an even better 2016 for us all! Speaking of which, I'm so knee deep in beauty products, (my life's dream!) and would like to share with you the ones I kept going back to this year that have earned a spot in my beauty corner. Some are oldies but goodies, and some are new acquisitions that I've fallen head over heels in love with. If you're looking for any last minute gifts or just a treat for yourself (you deserve it) take a gander over here and see if anything suits your fancy.
Foundation: Stowaway Radiant Complexion Beauty Balm in Fair. This indie brand took the beauty world by storm this year, and for good reason. I've yet to find a BB cream of such high quality, made of natural and safe ingredients, that looks so truly radiant on my skin. I'm a devotee for life!
Blush: RMS Lip2Cheek Organic Cream Blush and Lipstick in Diabolique. Also a new fave, from a company that is committed to producing natural, non-toxic products. Love the sheer tint and staying powder from this double-duty product.
Mascara: Benefit's They're Real Mascara. It's a cult fave for a reason, I love that it's a bit chunky looking and that it gives me sky high lashes.
Lipstick: Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Shiraz. All natural! Non-toxic! Doesn't taste of heavy chemicals like many luxury lipsticks, but has the long-wear and velvety feel of an expensive designer lipcolor.
Moisturizer: Glossier Priming Moisturizer. Can't say enough about this light, hydrating, primer and moisturizer in one. I'm obsessed.
Cleanser: Lush Ultrabland
Body Oil: SW Basics Body Oil. Love this new Brooklyn-based brand and their simple, natural products.
Facial Oil: Beautycounter Lustro Face Oil 1. It's hydrating without feeling heavy, and smells divine.
Lip Balm: Glossier Balm DotCom
Masks: Glossier duo
Sheet Masks: Benton Snail Bee Content Sheet Mask. This was the year I dabbled in snail entrails and I'm never going back!
Nail polish: It's a tie between Essie Devil's Advocate and Essie Fishnet Stockings for my go-to colors of the year.
Eye Cream: Beautycounter Vibrant Eye Perfector. The only way I survived allergy season this year without my eye skin sacks hanging off my face.
Facial spray: Mario Badescu Facial Spray. You can tear this from my cold, dead hands.
Concealer: Stowaway Creaseless Concealer in Fair
Powder: Makeup Forever Micro Finish Powder.
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 3.
Shampoo and Conditioner: DAVINES Love.
Hand Balm: Kadidja Handmade. Local find at my farmers market that has already worked wonders on my dry winter hands.
Hair Heat Protectant: R&B. Technically a deep conditioner, but I use it as a heat protectant on my ends and it smells divine.
Styling Spray: Living Proof Instant Texture Mist.
Beach spray: Bumble & Bumble Surf Infusion.
Hair spray: R&Co Vicious
Dry shampoo: Klorane.
Bar Soap: Shea Moisture African Black Soap.
Hmmmm, have I forgotten anything? Probably. I hope you have a simply delightful holiday, and a very happy new year. See you in 2016!!!!!
