I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I'm happy to report that I'm feeling much better after my week of sadness over having to return to New York after Thanksgiving in California. It's just a rough transition back every time, and I have to let myself feel what I'm feeling and know it will pass. It helped to get the house decorated for the holiday and to have a lovely weekend with friends and sweet Theo. Sometimes I just need to get settled back in my house and do some cooking and the world is right again. Who would have thought that cooking would make me feel better? Certainly not me 2 years ago!
Anyhoo, lets continue the journey down our gifting suite and talk about what to get for your pal that just LOVES all things beauty. You know I believe in the power of a Sephora gift card, but if you want to pick something out, here are some handy ideas to get your brain juices flowing.
You just can't go wrong with Urban Decay Naked Palettes. (Naked 3 is a bit springy, but it's my fave. If you want to spend a bit less money, you can go with Naked Basics.) The colors are incredibly beautiful, long-wearing, and ultra high quality. They're a cult fave for a reason and any beauty lover would be thrilled to get one.
Masks are a great gift because they force people to take a bit of time for a bit of self-care, they travel well, and are a luxury item that a lot of people don't want to buy for themselves. My favorites include: Glossier Mask Duo, Lush Mask of Magnaminty, any of the Sephora Sheet Masks, Bosica Luminizing Black Mask, and Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. You can definitely find a mask at a price point that is comfortable for your budget but feels high end and luxurious.
In a similar vein, scrubs are a lovely gift to give because you are less likely to buy it for yourself, they feel luxurious, and make you take some time for yourself. I love the Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Scrub, Josie Maran Argan Sugar Balm Body Scrub, and Lush Ocean Salt.
If you're looking to win friend of the year, booking your friend for a facial is a treat they will appreciate greatly! Here in New York, you can find great, affordable facials at Mario Badescu, and Lush Spa. Check groupon for deals in your city, but make sure you read reviews for that particular salon before you purchase them. Similarly, you can give the gift a massage, eyelash extensions, or a fancy haircut or blowout!
If your loved one is into beauty gadgets, then the Clarisonic Mia Fit will blow their minds. It's the travel friendly version of the classic Clarisonic. If they already have a Clarisonic, or want something even more streamlined, the Luna Mini Foreo provides similar results and has great reviews. And if your friend is decidedly more low-tech, go for this Cleansing Massage Brush or a standard dry brush!
