MY SISTER IS COMING TO VISIT! She gets here early this morning and I am freaking out with anticipation. She's been to NYC a bunch of times, but it's her boyfriend's first so I'm excited to do a mix of touristy things as well as checking out some of my favorite local hangs. Hoping to go to a museum or two, explore the parks, wander the streets, and eat and drink everything in sight. Truth be told, it was fairly difficult to find a picture of my sister and me together where we aren't holding drinks. Hence, the solo pic. C'est la vie!
Here are some of my fave links from the week for your eyeballs and a little ditty for your heart.
I went a little crazy at the bookstore on Wednesday.
I didn't even know this was a thing!
Covering a colored tattoo. I had to do this to my sister's tat once at a wedding in Mexico because we didn't want our grandparents to know she had one.
Queen Lisa. Her YouTube channel basically taught me how to do my makeup.
Lush gift ideas for the yummy mummy in your life.
Yeowch. A woman is suing her doctor for performing a procedure without her consent during birth.
I want to go to there.
And lastly, but most importantly, please consider donating to the survivors of the earthquake in Nepal. Hospitals are completely overrun and the fear of aftershocks are causing people to perform surgeries, including C-sections, out in the open. Countless numbers of children are homeless, injured, and/or orphaned. I was 10 years old during the Northridge earthquake in '94 and I can still remember the metallic taste of fear in my mouth that night. I can't even imagine how terrified these poor children must be, and the conditions they are living in.
