Music for Kids that Won't Drive You Insane

I love playing music for my lil babes. Whether it's some dance tracks to get them groovin', or some experimental classical to freak with their tiny minds while they have lunch, I love giving them a diverse array of music choices from when they're very little beings. It doesn't always have to be all about the wheels on the bus or the itsy bitsy spider! (Though there are times when both the bus and spider can come in quite handy and be quite pleasant.) And I think we all know that I love musicals, and love playing them for kids, but I am going to try to restrain myself and not just post the Hamilton soundtrack. YOU'RE WELCOME. I think a healthy mix of music that is made for kids, (but is pleasant for adults) plus some oldies and some fun dance jams can make for a lovely afternoon of music with your littles.

Here are some of my favorite jams for kids:

All Beatles all day. How could you get sick of them when there are so many albums to choose from and they are all perfect?

The Velvet Underground - Sunday Morning

Raffi - Baby Beluga (You can't go wrong with this classic!)

Otis Redding - Sitting on the Dock of the Bay

Arcade Fire - Wake Up

Carole King - Alligators All Around (All of Really Rosie is a true gem)

Feist - 1234

Sonny and Cher - I Got You Babe

Elizabeth Mitchell - Little Bird, Little Bird

Beach Boys - Surfin' USA

I'd love to hear your favorite songs to pass the time with your kids!
