Well, this week has actually been a hellscape of apocalyptic proportions, and I for one am very ready for it to be over. Your links are coming at you a bit late because I spent most of the time I usually dedicate to writing this post looking trying to stay off the Internet for my own sanity. Isn't just being a person who is alive on this planet hard enough? Ugh. I've had enough from the garbage people of the world to last me a lifetime. No more, thanks! I've been rocketing between feeling like we deserve this psychic pain, insomnia, fear and that I have no right to look away and also trying desperately to find the beauty in the world, to be gentle, and disconnect.
If you don't already have a dog, I highly recommend getting one. Even though I want to sacrifice her to the gods when it's 90 degrees at 1am and she insists on sleeping on my back, there's just nothing better than those puppy kisses and her ridiculous antics. Maeby turns 9 this month, it's unreal. I've had her for so long she feels like an extension of my own body. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wish I had given birth to her!
Another little thing that brought me joy this week is that The Great British Baking Show is back! If you haven't seen it you don't know what you're missing. Its the sweetest cooking show on television. Everyone is so polite and kind, there are no reality tv antics, and I love the bizarre British pastries they make. Watching the show is the equivalent of eating a delicious chicken soup your mom makes you when you're sick.
Wishing us all a peaceful weekend, here are some links for your eyeballs and a little ditty for your heart.
